Having a casino in our community will likely decrease our property values.

No Consulation

The Municipality has conducted little consultation with the local community and businesses in the area.

Traffic and Parking ConcernS

A casino means increased traffic at all times of the day creating a strain on residents and parking capacity.

First nations reserve

The O'Chiese First Nations are the new owners of the Cambridge Hotel. They have communicated to the City of Red Deer their intention to convert the hotel property into a First Nations urban reserve inside the City of Red Deer, which would allow it to avoid paying taxes and allow smoking on the property amongst other changes and consequences.
